Hooi Fuang graduated with Bachelor of Law (Hons) from University of Malaya in 2009. Shortly thereafter, she underwent her pupillage with Messrs Sidek Teoh Wong & Dennis under the tutelage of the firm’s managing partner.

During her pupillage, she was given opportunities to assist in various general and banking litigation works. She completed her pupillage in April 2010.

She was then called and admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 21st May 2010.

Hooi Fuang then joined Messrs Lee Ong & Kandiah as a legal associate in May 2010. She remained with the firm until April 2013. During her time with the firm, she had acquired various experiences not only limited to assisting the partners and senior associates in various legal works but as well as given opportunities to conduct hearings and full trials in the following areas:

• Bankruptcy and Insolvency
• Banking Litigation
• Employment and Industrial Relation
• General Litigation.

In April 2013, she left Messrs Lee Ong & Kandiah and joined Messrs Amir Faezal Norzela & Chong on 6th May 2013, practising in conveyancing area. During her time in this firm, she gained experience in real estate practice and has had the opportunities to advise and represent clients ranging from individual to various corporations, including companies, financial institutions and developers. She also advised various financial institutions in relation to housing, personal and corporate loans for both conventional and islamic financing from Public Bank Berhad, Public Islamic Bank Berhad, Malayan Banking Berhad, Malayan Islamic Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Alliance Bank Berhad, Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad, OCBC Bank Berhad and others. Besides, she also had the opportunities to gain experiences in corporate matters mainly in advising and drafting various types of agreements.

Subsequently, she left the firm in early June 2015 and joined Messrs Chuah & Yong as a partner and remained therein until July 2018, whereby Hooi Fuang joined Messrs Leong & Co. as a partner.
